Are they treating your thyroid disease like an eating disorder?

I started a lawsuit again my insurance company because they made me jump through a year of hoops as if I had an eating disorder when all along I had hashimotos (thyroid disease/disorder).  If your insurance company is doing that to you, please let me know and I will refer you to my attorney.  Lets make these insurance companies understand the different between eating disorders and thyroid disorders.  [email protected]

I am shocked (well, not really -- insurance will make up anything to deny a claim. I had one denied because they said my doctor was a family relative???!!!).

Where did they get the idea that the two are the same? Didn't the psych eval rule out an active ED? Blood work (TSH level over 5.5) proves Hashimoto's. I'm curious to know what their ****amamy (sp?) rational for that was? What did they tell you? I'm just starting with approval process and have Hashimoto's and don't want to run into the same thing. Good luck and luv to hear the details (if you are legally allowed to share), Kahlua
