Hi everyone! I am new to this and was wanting to get  a RNY but i have Humana isurance thru medicare, IS there anyone elso out there that has had their advantage plan cover WLS? Does it still have to be performed in a center of excellence hospital?Humana says they will cover it if it is medically necessary. Im just having a hard time finding a Dr that aceepts a medicare advantage plan. My bmi is 40 and i do have some comorbidities. I need to lose about 125 lbs and am anxious to get this started. Any information would be greatly appreciated! I also have a morphine pump in  my spine with the port in my stomach. Is there anyone else that has a similar condition.? Did the Dr have a problem doing the RNY? Thanks , sherri

Can't help you with the medical advice, however, I can tell you that Medicare Advantage plans go by the same criteria as traditional Medicare and it would have to be performed at a COE.
