Hello friends,

I want to let you know that I will get to all your questions within the next few days, and that I am sorry for my absence.

I’ll be honest these past  two months have been murder.  My  old office gets broken into.  We move my office to home, , then we move to our new location.  The phones get screwed up for a week.  Then the first day coming home from my new office I get into a very bad accident and totaled my car.  Then the next week they shut the building down because the landlord wouldn’t fix the Senators office from water damage, so being a NY State Senator he has the fire marshal close the entire building for nearly a week.  Our email, address and telephone all change, then we come to find out that  my father in law who has this very rare form of MS in his optic nerve, so he’s kind of blind or very blurry, but know they say the MS has progressed to real MS and he’s not doing well.

AND I BROKE THE SUPPLEMENT RULE SO YOU ALL BETTER LEARN FROM ME.

A week ago I find out my iron is low so I start back with the supplements which of course we ne never should stop taking.  You know, you get complacent.   So last saturday I end up passing out in our bathroom ripping the sink off the wall and cracking the drain pipe.

Ready.....So, I bet you can guess…..yep, fractured rib.

I’m nearly caught up with work, as you can see I’m still up at 4:43am and never went to sleep so I should be up to speed shortly, therefore, if you need anything, have any problem issues etc give me a shout.

And I promise to get to your questions by friday.  As well as posting some new studies to help you with getting approvals or your employers to add coverage for the Surgery. The only good news is that we got in a bunch of approvals in the past few weeks.  And OH, OAC and other groups are really doing some pretty nice advocacy.   I really feel they're starting to realize what WE ALREADY KNOW.  WLS is life saving, cost saving, and your new health trickles down to your family.  I hope you are all well.   Thank you for the cards and well wishes.

Gary,  You are a lawyer...maybe you can answer this.  I have BCBSIL.  When I sent in my completed chart,  and it was a very thorough one with all of the points covered, I was denied, first due to lack of 6 month diet plan, then lack of metabolic profile, then lack of proof of 5 yrs  of bmi above 40.  All of these points were very thoroughly documented on the initial application.  As I look on the intenet, I find that everyone has this same problem with BCBSIL...they are intent on NOT covering this proceedure (RNY).  Do we have any recourse in this matter?  Can we complain to some board about this unfair practice?  How do we get approved, and not go around and around with this company?  I still have not gotten approval, although all criteria has been met, and next month my husband is going to apply for RNY.  I am dreading going through this same fight again,  that is if I ever win my own fight.  This is all so very discouraging.  Any advise would be helpful. Regards, Robyn

thanks.  Feeling good.  Wish I could delete my own topic, but can't so I'll say thank you again, and all is well, knock on wood.
