DS Approval on Medicaid?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site although I've been lurking for years... finally 'ready' to take charge. I'm in Michigan and so far it seems like slim pickings to say the least in who will take my insurance.  I'm on a Medicaid HMO.  There are 2 doctors in Bloomfield Hills but neither of them take any form of Medicaid - I was simply told that one of them [the one I REALLY want] is considering applying for his credentials... There are however 2 in Grand Rapids that *appear* to take Medicaid, waiting for a call back from them before I go much further. Has anyone here had DS with Medicaid?  If so, can you tell me the challenges you faced with them? Thanks so much in advance! Sherry
