Anyone with NYS Empire approved for PS?

It's not just lbs that are dropping.......my skin is dropping.....a panni is already essential.....and I haven't reached my goal. I get back pain virtually everyday......when I roll over in bed I am awakened by a sharp pain.....as if a muscle is overextended across my hip bone. I am wondering if there is any chance that insurance will pay for a panniculectomy. My insurance is Empire through New York State.  ~~~Thanks~~~

I am sorry for the pain that you are experiencing in relation to your surgery. The best thing for you to do is to check your insurance plan's documents.  If there are any coverage options, they will be listed in the document.   Ultimately, keep in mind that as long as you can prove that a procedure is medically necessary (and not cosmetic), getting coverage shouldn't be too much of an issue.  Chronic pain associated with drooping skin oftentimes is a case for medical necessity.
