Really sad...my wls won't be covered...

So I called UHC today to find out the requirements to getting covered for bariatric surgery... None. I can't get the surgery period, covered by them. My health plan through my employer doesn't cover it. I had been told that several people at work had it covered so I was excited and just KNEW I could get it covered... The plan changed effective 6/1/07. I am heartbroken, so I won't be coming on here anymore guys. Good luck in all your journeys, and thanks for the help yall have given me thus far. Kim

Never give up, Im not.... my employer also uses UHC and WLS is an excluded procedure. Im awaiting the decision on my appeal. You can go to your employer and ask for a rider, if they previous covered youre a step closer than others whose employers have never covered it. If you want WLS then keep fighting- it is not easy.
