Playing the WAITING GAME!!!

My surgeon's office has sent to the letter of to Aetna to get approval for my Lap Band surgery and I am getting really anxious.  I have been on Aetna's website and I have done everything that they require in order to approve it but I am still nervous.  i think I am worrying myself sick.  Does anyone have any words to calm my nerves??

Gosh, you are me exactly. I havent slept in 2 weeks. I eat like I am going to the chair. I cant work. Its horrible....my girl said it takes a couple of weeks---its been a couple of weeks. I am dying here. Just keep thinking positive! We WILL be approved, we WILL be approved! There is nothing we can do but wait! If you did everything, I am sure it will go thru!

I guess what sparked my anxiety is I got a letter from Aetna today stating that they received my request and are going to need additional information.  Now my surgeon's office did tell me in advance that they would make this request but the letter just put me on edge. You are right though.  We just need to chant WE WILL GET APPROVED!

You are not alone!  I'm glad I'm not the only one going thru anxiety. I'm waiting on Aetna as well. I haven't been sleeping. Only 11 hours in the past 5 days. I have had panic attacks, nervous energy, headaches, and today I just havent felt like eating. I think this is the hardest part. It's like you are standing on  ledge and youre scared of heights. Just waiting for that moment when  someone will grab you and pull you back. That's the only way I know to decribe it.  I've never liked not knowing. I dont know what to say to help other than you are not alone. Hugs.

Well..i guess im there too lol.  I have IN medicaid.  I have my clearances sent from my PCP after 2 weeks last friday.  SO its only been 4 days lol..but..ive been calling them like crazy.  Ive seen where medicaid doesnt realy NOT approve anyone.  Ive also seen where it has to be meidcaly ness.  I am runing through my head what I put in  my pack. Did I put Im depressed? Did I put that I have PCOS?  I had to call them and tell them that my PCP said my BP is high.  I dont now

This is tooooo funny. I too have Aetna. Paperwork submitted 9/18. I have called on Monday and Wednesday of this week and was told I was still in the predetermination stage. I am going to call again tomorrow. I have been eating like I am stocking up for winter and very irritable.I have done all requested of me but until I get the ok i will not be able to rest.  Let's all hope we hear something very very soon..........

Yes that is funny. I was submitted on 9/18 too. We all ned to band together!!! Ha ha ha! I call Aetna every day. I think they are sick of me.

I  called Aetna today and they denied my request for surgery.  I'm not sure what I feel.  I called the surgeons office and their attitude was it's ok, we'll work it out. We just need to find out what they're requesting.  So now I wait for the "denial letter". Hopefully it'll be something minor

Aetna denied me too back in August (only took like two weeks to say no!) Maybe you are just missing some paperwork.  If not and you are you requesting the Lap-Band, ObesityLaw.com might help you with your appeal.  They did mine (at not cost to me if they accept your case because they work for the Lap-Band company) and just submitted my appeal last week.  Now I am waiting,  AGAIN!
