BCBS of Ark

I am being told (by mail) that I have been denied due to the fact that the very thing that qualifies me disqualifies me.  My BMI is 37.5 , I am 5-6 and 230. The insurance said that b/c my sleep apnea and high cholesterol is controlled with a machine and med’s that I can’t have the Lap band. WTF I really don’t understand this.

 

I pulled the bylaws of our insurance and I have all the things that would qualify anyone, but yet they say no because of the reason listed above. I need someone to help me. What do I do?

How do you appeal and what needs to be said in the letter. Please someone help, I only have 180 days to do this and doctors office is not much help here. I need to do something within the nest few weeks.  SkylarRose

I am so sorry this is happening to you.  What I suggest is do a search at the top under the OH section and put "appeal letter" There are a lot of people that have the exact appeal letter they used in their profiles and they say you can use them if you need them.  That would be a good start!
