BCBS...so much BS
So I was denied for a brachioplasty, I know, I know typically they aren't covered they are deemed cosmetic, but here is the pic of my arms. And having read my policy it should be covered for the functional, genetic, skin issues.
So here is their latest BS...
I just got a call from my BCBS nurse case manager, she said she has spoken to my benefits administrator and she had read or heard somewhere (o.k. if you are drinking now, or have to go pee PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK) than the Shriners would pay for my type of surgery if I donated the skin. SERIOUSLY that is the WORK my f-ing insurance company is doing for me!!! It's like after a hurricane when a student wanted a lawyer at our law school to just read over a document so she could get out of her lease, and I was told "oh just have the girl call Help Me Howard" on ch. 7. I calmly said, that's an urban myth, it's not true...it's soooo no true that I believe the Shriners actually have that it's no true on their website!!!!
And oh look here is it... http://www.shrinershq.org/Hospitals/Cincinnati/links/Frequen tly_Asked_Questions.aspx
So then she said oh well I was just thinking if this doesn't work out we would have a plan b...yeah lady my plan b is to appeal again. I mean HELLO if Shriners would think I needed it done that badly, shouldn't YOU ALL think I need it done too!!!!
Then she checked on the status and said let's see how long has it been? I said it was receieved Aug 31 so it's been 18 days, oh but I don't think it was in the system until Sept 4. I said yes, but just for counting the 30 days it starts from when they received it which was Aug 31, and she tried to say no it will count from Sept. 4th when they got it in the system. Look if this becomes an issue as in there is no reply by Sept. 28th since the 29th and 30th are a weekend...then I will argue and wave my returned receipt over night package slip in the air and say you've had it in hand since Aug 31st, I don't care what holiday or how slow your internal workings are!!!!
