Need some advice....
I am fed up with my current PCP!!!
I had been going to him for a year to do the medically supervised diet and documentation. In my notes, he did not write everything that was needed for approval. On 2 occasions, he wrote only that "we will follow on next visit"!! He knew what I needed as we had discussed it in detail. Well, come to find out the reason he did that was because he and his wife (his nurse practitioner) had friends who gave their son WLS for a graduation gift and he did not follow the guidelines and died as a result. So now they do not believe that ANYONE should have the surgery. WHY tell me after a YEAR of going to him that he had no intention to write my letter of medical nec.!?!?!?! Money (the root of all evil, I quess)!!!! I had to pay for all my visits out of pocket. BCBS of AL would not pay for them. I have fired him!! But my question is--since BCBS has changed their rules for WLS--what do I need to get my new PCP to chart in my notes?? He seems to be willing to help. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!!
