Has anyone been approved quickly with Aetna for DS?

My stuff was sent in last week, the coordinator in my sugeon's off ice is GREAT....but I am DYING here---I read stories that people got approved in 24 hours! She told me that usually she has no problem with Aetna, but she never put in for a "revision." I am not really a revision, as I am back to being normal after a removed lap band (emergency). Everything has healed like now, and I have gained all my weight back to be a whopping 40.5 BMI. Goodie. I just am on pins and needles waiting. And I dont want to call her every 2 seconds to find out, cause she will hate me. do you think they will have a problem with this...? My surgeon has written all the "medical necessity" letters and I have been a good girl and gotten ALL of my pre-certs COMPLETELY PASSED AND FINISHED!!!! Help!!!!!

Go ahead and call Aetna directly.  Just call the pre-certification department and ask about the status.  If they don't know, ask for a time frame about how long it'll be.  If they are clueless, hang up and try again and hope a more knowledgeable operator answers.

I have BCBS.  The pre-certification number was listed on the back of my card...I'd assume it would be on yours as well.  The operator you get i**** or miss.  The first time I called to find out requirements, I actually spoke to a nurse and she was unbelievably helpful.  The next time I called I got some clueless person that didn't even know what I was talking about...lol! I called basically everyday to ask the status.  Thanks for the well-wishes!

The people at Aetna have been outstanding whenever I call them for information. They have been very pleasnet and willing to help.
