What are the other options if you don't sign up for BCBS/MN?
If it were me, I would sign up for PPO (preferred provider option) insurance. The premiums may be higher than those for managed health care (or HMO). Plus, under PPO, one would be lots more free to choose his/her own doctors and hospitals.

I had BCBS of MN through Cargill when my DH worked there and they paid for "ALL" of my PS. I was blown away. I had medical reasons but they were AWESOME! We had the PPO. I could have killed him when he lost his job and we lost the insurance!!!!!!
