Has anyone here been approved by WV Medicaid ?

 live in WV and I have WV Medicaid..I came to Va in Feb 06 and saw Dr Schirmmer at UVA and attented the seminar.I talked to Mike Miller afterwards at  Dr Schirmmers office and he told me that WV medicaid was one of the most difficult to get approval through..He said it would be alot easier if I had Va medicaid..I came back home and had my phyc evaluation and done my 6 mth Dr supervised diet then I lost my Medicaid and I just recently got it back through a spend down but only for 6 mths.I  DESPERATLY need this surgery..I was told when I called WV medicaid that if i wasnt a Diabetic or so obese that I was in a wheel chair or a walker that I COULD NOT be approved for surgery. I am not a diabetic and I am not in a wheel chair but I have several other Co- Morbitities that my weight affects greatly My BMI is 57 and I have MS,Fibromyaglia,IBD,GERD,Hietal Hernia,Several Herniated Discs in my back,Arthritis in my spine,Severe Carpel Tunnel in both hands,I have to take care of My 10 mth old Grandbaby and I have a 12 yr old son and I need to be able to take care of them..My Mother also has Cancer and needs my help to care for her..I do the best I can but its really HARD sometimes..and I knwo I could do SO MUCH better if I had this surgery and got the weight off..Its SO imprtant to me..So PLEASE.If anyone here has been aproved for surgery in Va with WV Medicaid or been approved at all with WV medicaid..Please give me some advice that will help me..Thanks So Much for listening..Tammie

all i can say is to look at the doctors listed on this site that are WV and see what kind of insurance they have taken in the past. If you do find one that has taken medicaid, call and schedule an appointment with him because he will most likely know what needs to be done to get an approval. good luck
