Insurance companies? Where to go?!
I have a question about which insurance companies will cover Gastric Bypass? I currently have no insurance and no way to pay for the surgery. I live in Wisconsin and I'm looking for others who may live here and have insurance that covers the surgery. Basically, looking for insurance the covers the surgery and has no pre-existing wait .. affordable. Can anyone help me?
I definatly can tell you NOT to go with Destiny Health Ins....they are horable to work with for anything. Specially WLS. I lost my fight with them 2 yrs ago.. My policy said they would cover it if it was medically needed. Then come to find out when putting the claim in they contacted my husbands employer and then they added a claus not to include WLS, so they denied it apeal after apeal...They will rob you of all hope for this! DONT GO WITH THEM!

Welcome to OH! I too am in Milwaukee, but my husband's company is self insured-so you can not get the same insurance as I have. I suggest looking at the bar on the left hand side of the page -under Forum Content. Click on the Insurance By State link-choose Wisconsin and you can read about members' experinec with many different insurance companies.
