Medicaid in Alabama

Hello everyone, Although I am not from Alabama, I am writing to ask your help for a very dear friend of mine.  She lives in Alabama and needs gastric bypass surgery ASAP.  Following a lengthy battle with the state, she's been awarded medicaid only to hit a brick wall in her attempts to find a bariatric surgeon who will accept medicaid.  Numerous phone calls, even calls to the medicaid office have provided very little help in her search.  As weight loss patients, we can all relate to the heartache of so desperately needing WLS and having to play "The Waiting Game."  Please. . .if anyone can offer some advice, especially names of surgeons who take medicaid in Alabama, your help is so greatly appreciated. I do not know if this MD does or not but it would be worth a shot.  His office is usually pretty helpful.  If they do not, ask them if they know someone who does accept Medicaid.  His name is Antonio Williams and he is in Montgomery.  I am sorry that I do not have his number.  He did a friend of mine's surgery but she was self-pay due to her insurance company not paying for it.
