Has anyone had problems with Aetna? I have read the policy 6 times and no where in it does it say I have to have 2 doctors to say I need surgery. But that is what they are telling me know I need help Bobbie

I would think that doc 1 would be your PCP and doc 2 would be the surgeon? I do not have aetna, but if they require the 6 month diet from your PCP then you have the surgical consult? Just a thought, hope it helps.

Okay I agree with above.  I think its your general doc then either the surgeon or the 6 month eval doc.  Either way, getting 2 docs to say you need the surgery is a piece of cake.  I wouldnt worry about it.

I had Aetna 2 years ago for my wls. I had my pcp write a letter and then my surgeon wrote a letter, although I don't see in their policy bulletin where it is required!! Weird!! Well, at least your fix is simple, just get another letter and fax it in.  HUGS
