HI, I had Lapband surgery on 4/23/07 with a BMI of 38. I have now lost 17 lbs lowering my BMI to 34. Went in & had 2nd fill a month ago. Received bill from office that my BCBS Teamsters MI, refused to pay cause of no longer being morbidly obese. I am now considered just OBESE. Can they do this in mid stream 4 months after surgery ? I still have the Diabetes & High Cholesterol that I had pre-surgery. They both are more under control & meds have been lowered to smaller dosages.Yes, surgery has helped me, but can they cut me off now ?  Any comments or advise would be appreciated. Surgeons office is working with BCBS, but haven't heard nothing back in 9 days.                                        Thanks, Pam

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you but to me, that sounds absolutely ABSURD!  I hope you can get this resolved quickly.  Good luck! Lynette

That sounds crazy...that should fall under something like someone going and getting stitches and then the insurance not paying for having the stitches taken out...thats just wrong. I wish you much luck.
