I had Lap Band surgery on July 5th. My insurance at the time was presbyterian health. My husband is changing jobs and of course a different insurance (Atnea).... Will this new insurance company take over where the last insurance quit? Will they approve my follow ups and fills? What about finding another doctor. i would love to change doctors. My surgeon is GREAT, but he is 500 miles away. There is a bariatric hospital just 40 miles away but Pres. wouldn't pay for them. I wonder if a new doctor will take over my care? I have my first fill August 28th, my husbands new insurance goes into effect Sept. 1st. I would hate to think i would be left on my own without a doctor's care. I wouldn't be able to afford to self pay for follow up and fills. So, to shorten the ramblings....  Will my new insurance cover my weight loss follow ups and let me choose another doctor? Thanks All, Debbie

I think what you need to find out is the following: - What's the new insurance company? - Is it self funded? - If so, is there an exclusion for WLS? - Is the WLS considered a pre-existing condition?
