How many of you actually sent in all of your food logs for the full 6 month diet to insurance for pre-approval?  I'm curious to see if they really matter.  I am very curious about the ones for BC/BS Pensylvain (UPRR employees).  Thanks.

Hello, my name is Shirley, I have BCBSIL, and yes, I hate to tell you, that is one of the things mine wanted to see, I am now in appeals, but I sent in 27 pages of what I ate, and how much, I tracked it on mirco soft, had my dr sign it, just so the nurse at my insurance Reveiw unit say "she eats the same thing all the time". And 1500 caloires per day for an active diabetic 2 under dr's supervision was "too many calories for her to consume in a day." And that is what they denied me on, and I don't even have it in writing from them. But I was able to loss a toal of 95 lbs over 4 yrs. and have been on a supervised diet for 74 weeks, with RX, exercise (which btw, I sent 133 pages of logged exercise journals as well.) So, documentation, is key. Just to give you a heads up, but I did not send it to them untill they required it, so I gave them the basic's, and went from there.Good Luck

I am so sorry for your frustration.  I cannot believe an insurance company can hold people hostage like this.  Totally unbelievable.   You look like you have your ducks in a row, so I think they will pay.....they will have to back down at this point.  YOu are the most documented person I've ever seen on this board.   Good Luck. Thanks sweetie, now, because it is so much documents, they have over looked my entire file, as they have requested this info, so it is being re reveiwed at this point, so I am holding my breath til wednesday, if they still give me crap, I am getting Gary on thier BUTT's!!! But they retracted from telling me "denied" after all because of thier mistake. .....  I forget to metion, it was Medifast as my offical diet, with RX, and food journal I keep track on with my computer, on top of my medifast journaling... So I had document, upon document, all with Dr. signature with summary refferencing in my chart.                                                                                                     If there is anything I can do, please let me know, we are all in this together!! BCBS of Alabama required that the food journal be sent in as part of the nutritionist paperwork.  Not sure if everyone requires that or not.   Hope this helps.
