Please Help me!
On July 27th I called my husbands insurance and they said that the surgury has covered adn i asked them again I had a paper from his insurance company that said if we upgrade our insurance then the surgury would be covered at 100 % insted of 80% so we did. then after i went to my meeting with the hospital and got all the info on the surgury. I came home and called my husbands insurance again and asked for a copy of the requirements for the surgury and they said to look on computer and i can print it off there well i looked for 2 days (meeting was July 31st) so i could not find it and i called again. and they informed me that it was an add on exclusive and it was not covered in our plan. So my husband called and they told him the same he even told them i have a paper in my hand and it says it is covered and they said that his company made a change. so the next day i call them and they said the paper work they have says the same as mine. so they call Medical Mutal and they said they could not talk to them so they put me on conference call with them and his work and they said On August 1st the upgrade no longer covered the surgury. and my husbands work needed to contact there contact who sold them the plan. well they did and this women saud that It was her mistake she was to remove that from the paper she made a mistake and was very sorry. but it was removed from our plan. I feel that it is in writting and they have to cover it. It becomes their problem not mine.
Is there anything i can do?
can someone help me?

Boo I say! BOO! Yeah, at the very least they should have to cover any out of pocket costs you occured based on their mistake and the choices you made based on thier "approval". I would contact a lawyer and pay the $250 it would take to have him and his office mail them CERTIFIED nasty gram (letter) with intent to seek legal action. That letter costs about $250 and well worth the money. They can draw something up fairly quick too. Then I would tell them since you actually have them in writting saying they would do it, tell them you will be contacting the local news channel. See if you can stir things up. Stay nice, calm but very assertive. Remember, you need them more than they need you. Do not threaten to get an attorney because everyone does and they immediately turn you off. Just go to an attorney once you feel every other avenue is exhausted. You can also see if the union can get involved (if a union exists).
