I am on Aetna PPO- has anyone got an approval or denial for using insulin resistance as a co-morbitity (diabetes is a co-morb)? I have 5 years documented with metformin and actos, and BMI of 35 or higher for 5 years.  I am getting my records together and the doctors office says this will probably be okay. I just want to know if anyone has dealt with this specifically. Thank You,  Kimberly in McKinney

There are pages and pages of Aetna people on here.  Go to the insurance section and look up Aetna aphabetically and you will see all the postings.  If I remember right Aetna is one of the best ones for approval (lucky dog).  Insulin resistancy is very high amoungst those getting surgery so I would think that would be good but you may need more so go check out others postings on Aetna.  Good luck!

Thanks! I have been browsing but I didn't see any on insulin resist. I will keep looking.  Atleast I got positive feed back from the girls at the surgeons office. They felt like that would work.
