Aetna approval 1st try!!!! (also info that might be useful)
Aetna called my surgeon's office today and gave them the authorization # for my surgery! (And this after Aetna not even having any record of the submission as oif Wednesday!!!)
I am SO excited... I was very worried after reading some of the posts here.
Several people here with Aetna have asked questions about the "exercise" portion of the 6 or 3 month regimen. All I did was talk with the exercise physiologist 3 times, and during the 1st visit told him of my knee and breathing problems. He gave me some SIMPLE exercises I could do with those limitations, and each time I met with him we talked about how I was doing, questions etc. The only documentation I did on my exercise was that for the last month (because I was worried about it), I included a note on the food log (that the dietician asked me to keep) when I did any kind of exercise (walking the dog, the upper body exercises the e.p. gave me, etc.) I only had entries for about 2-3 days a week for that one month, but apparently that was enough (along with the e.p.'s notes that I was compliant with the recommendations he had made -- even though I did NOT do it as regularly as he would have liked, I'm sure). Just wanted to share for those of you who are wondering about "documenting" exercise.
