Private insurance help!?!?

I have UHC PPO that will not cover WLS but I was wondering if anyone "out there" has taken out a private, individual plan that will cover the surgery.  I thought that I could take out additional insurance to help with the cost.  I'm aware that I may have to wait a little bit longer but it's better than nothing.  PLEASE someone know what to do and help me!!!!!!!!!!!  Thanks!   Amy

I had an exclusion on my original plan and purchased a self pay plan that approved me for the band. They are only in NY though - GHI. There is hope out there!

GHI is the name of the company - I'm pretty sure they only cover NY though. I canceled my old plan with Anthem BC/BS and switched to this one, about mid way through the pre-op testing. I have insurance through my job and my employer said if I could find a new plan that covered the band and was close in price (or pay the difference if it was more $$) they would allow me to switch. I really owe a lot to her for helping me out!!
