Has anyone had a denial overturned when their Dr did a Peer to Peer with insurance company? I was denied due to the the dreaded 6 month diet and have been on it for 5 months but my back is soo bad if I don't get approved soon my Dr will make me have back surgery instead. I can feel the weight piling on already! Thanks Darlene

I don't have an answer to your question, but wanted to reply.  On Friday, I was denied by Cigna because I believe of incomplete notations by my doctor on my supervised diet.  The doctor's office is calling tomorrow to try to do the peer-to-peer review or set up the appointment.  My weight and vitals were kept on a separate piece of paper attached to the front the chart.  This paper was not faxed with all my other papers.  So I'm hoping once they review my monthly weigh-ins, this will get me approved. So I wish you luck and don't give up.

I actually had my primary care doctor do the peer-to-peer review, since your surgeon is on vaction, ask your PCP.  My surgeon said to have my PCP do it since he knows me better than the surgeon did.   Then you won't have to wait two week. Thanks, i'm very excited and I hope it works out for you too.
