insurance change

I have a question - I have been approved for my lap band surgery by my current insurance co.  I will probably have the surgery within the next month or so.  At the begining of next year I think my employer is changing insurance co.'s.  Next year when I will need to go for follow up appts and fills, should the new ins. co. cover this cost?
