Pre-existing condition clause

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with their insurance companies preexisting condition clause. I have new insurance as of this past January and it has the pre-existing clause for one year. I have been unable to show proof of creditable coverage, as they don't consider my VA benefits as creditable. I can't get a straight answer out of Aetna as to whether or not they will consider my obesity as a pre existing condition. Any comments?

Unfortunately, since you don't have proof of credible coverage, you have to wait one year due to pre-existing clause which is common in health insurance. 

Wow...I guess I was fortunate after all...I was approved on August 1st and my surgery is on the 6th. I feel lucky...:)
