Have you considered the VSG instead of bypass? I don't know if your insurance will cover it, but that's the reason I'm fighting to get the VSG is so that my medications (both current, and future, b/c I'm waiting for an organ transplant) will absorb the way they need to. Secondly, do you have a primary care physician who can help you? That's how I got my referral. :D
(Hi/DoS/CW/GW) 335/320/243.5/174  (-91.5)(total lost) in 18-20 dependent on brand!
I'm more than half-way there! :) (68.5 pounds to go)

yes i have a primary care dr  i had started this whole process last yr i was ready to have the surgery and my dr dropped me they didnt offer any other procedure as i asked about the lap band and they said that my insurance wouldnt cover that and they didnt offer any other information  the whole thing of it was is that they wanted me to go to  lauderdale  which is across the state of fl and i couldnt afford to go there so their decision was since i wouldnt go there cause i couldnt afford it they said i wouldnt be able to afford my vitamins after   they are saying the bipolar is the issue at hand which i appriciate to a great deal  but  when i said i can get different meds  thats when they told me if i have such limited resources  how could i pay for my vitamins  hmm....  if it really was just the bipolar issue  i think that should have been told to me from the word get go    i mean if i didnt have such limited resources would i need medicaid             i am blowing a little steam here  i should let you know   they are very very polite there and my surgeon was very thoughtful and caring  and professional i just wish they would have told me b4 a yr later  ya know  but thanks to them i have found out about my apnea that i could die from if not treated  and for that i am very grateful   i really would recommend this surgeon to my friend i just wish that it was adressed earlier than this  but thanks for your time and consideration to write to me                              Holly Smith
