I hope you wrote down each person's name and the day and time you talked to them.  Good luck!

AHHHHH I have UHC as well, I can not tell you how many people I have spoken to that this exact same thing has happened to them. I do not understand how a company can be SO stupid and unorganized.

I have a UHC (PacifiCare) plan as well. I was denied because I don't meet the "criteria." (eg.. haven't done their 6 month healthy roads prgm.) APPEAL! APPEAL! APPEAL! Fight for your rights! get the HR person to write an affidavit. make notes of when you called (cell phone records are very good for this kind of thing).

i have UHC's plus choice plan.the surgeons office was furious because they have told them all along that it was covered.she said when she sent in for a predetermination, they never said anything about any exclusions at all!!! she was on the roll today.she was as pissed as i was.she was throwing a fit for me today...lol...we will appeal and we will get thru this!!!back in march, when she sent in for a predetermination the first time,UHC said they needed more documentation,ie 5yr proof of obesity,6 mth supervised diet, they never once said it wasnt covered or there was an exclusion!!! so for now im saying its just another hoop, hurdle or bump in the road.good luck on your surgery!!!

I am going through the SAME exact thing..... now all UHC will say is sorry it was a mistake and too bad. we will retrain our personnel. this has cost me time and money and lots of heartache. maybe i should go to our local news station to complain.

Yep i am going through the same thing.  Had the "oh yeah its covered, heres what you need to submit"  did it all.  Took me a lil over 3 months.  Then find out "oh yeah your employer has an exclusion"  If i was just told this from the beginning i wouldnt have wasted time and money doing this.  But because i wasnt told, i now feel i have to fight till i cant fight anymore.  I'm currently appealing.  I recieved 2 letters both telling me i would have my final answer by july 22.  I even sent an email to our HR for my job and poured my heart out about why this should be covered.  It's been a week and so far i havent heard anything.  I did find out this so called HR person will be making a walk through to the company.  SO ima print out what i emailed her just in case she didnt "get" the email, which i know she did.   All we have to do is try.  It sucks i know.  I want to scream out, that i have the worse insurance but its not really their fault.  its my employers fault.
