Insurance Question and EOB's
I have United Health-care and was approved for RNY surgery I received my approval letter had surgery May 22. I received a EOB that states that I have to pay the surgeon and assistant surgeon, is this normal. The Dr. office told me insurance companies do these kind of things all the time. My question is have any of you experienced the same thing? I am so worried I'll end up paying 23,000.00 that I don't have.
Why isn't the surgeon covered? There has been many many problems with carriers not paying assistants.
The problem here is that somewhere at sometime you signed something saying you'll pay whatever fees are due if the carrier doesn't pay. So, if the doc agrees to do anything or not charge you, get it in writing.
