Tricare Prime

Is the lapband procedure covered by TRICARE PRIME?  I have heard several different opinions, but really need some facts on this subject.  Thank you! 

I have Tricare Prime also. They DO NOT cover the Lapband...BUT...U know theres ALWAYS a BUT...I also know that some people that were DENIED and appealed and got it covered. I think if you bug them and hassle them they will do it. I dont know why they will do it for some people and not for everyone but they do.

  There are people saying that Walter Reed will cover it. There are other military people saying if you go to the militay hospitals whatever surgery the docs do THERE you CAN get there. I am in the SAME boat.
