Well everyone, after peer to peer consultation and my written appeal the decision still stands with United Health Care since BMI was a little under 40 in 2003 I will not be able to have surgery.  They did say I can reapply in 2008.  So I will try again then, just a little over 6 months away.   I assume it wasn't meant for me to have this surgery this year, only god knows - maybe because I'm new on the job and I had serious concerns about taking off for 4-6 weeks.  I don't know, but I know there is a reason, so I'm at peace with that.   Denise AKA Chitchat!!

I wanted to lend some encouragement to you. I to am waiting to hear about my approval as my things were submitted yesterday afternoon. I am sorry to hear about the denial over a technicality. I believe your attitude about the outcome is Couragous and I believe that everything will work out the way God has it planned. You don't know if yet but like you said there is a reason. I wish you the best of luck and do not give up. We work on Kronos time, and I have found in my life that the Lord works on Kiaros Time. His plan is mapped out unbelievably perfect and as long as you keep the faith and the attitude of gratitude you will see it unfold and you will be blessed and you WILL have this surgery.

Has anyone been approved without a 5 year weight history of morbid obesity when their insurance company required it?  I have documentation of my weight over the last 5 years, and although I was obese all those years, I was not what is considered "morbidly obese".  Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
