BlueCross Blue Shield of Iowa

Anyone out there have this insurance and get approved without doing the 6 month supervised diet or know anything about blue cross.  I keep getting the run around from the insurance company.  But I have heard some people getting approved without it.  My dr.s office won't even try to get it approved without it.  Should I push them to anyway?

You can try an push, however, if they're anything like my surgeon's office, they won't budge.  Besides, why waste time in waiting for an approval that won't be approved?  You may as well start now with the supervised diet, 6 months goes by fast.  I've been in this waiting game for over a year now and still don't have an approval.   Good Luck

What kind of runaround are they giving you? Is your BMI borderline or anything like that? Records all submitted as asked, etc? Is it just that they want the diet no matter what?
