Hi,  Im new here My BMI is right at 40 I have BCBS of Alabama.  They state they you must has 3 years documentation of being overweight and if your BMI was below 40 - which is was.  It says you have to have co-morbities also Well, the only time I went to the doctor in the past 3 years was pregnancy check-ups and I only had high blood pressures due to being pregnant. Do you think this means I wouldnt get approved.

WE're about to sue BCBS AL in Federal COurt in Maryland in a week or so.   They're strict and they like to play games. Normally a BMI of 40 or higher without co-morbs is fine.  make sure you include depression, sleep apnea etc... anything you have.   If nothing, then argue your BMI is high,

Wow I too had BCBSofAL. Well I am switching from them to Uninted Healthcare.BCBS make you jump so many hoops and then they dont tell you that somethings arent covered. It is like pulling teeth to get information from them. You have a BMI of 40 you dont need comorbidities. Make sure your surgeon has a great insurance team. Good luck sweetheart from one young mom to another!
