only one appeal?

I was wondering if anyone else has an insurance co. that only allows one appeal? I have BCBS of Illinois and I heard that I am only allowed one appeal. And if I'm denied, I have to wait six months to try again. Does this sound right? Please help!

Nope doesn't sound right. I have a ton of cases with them and normally it's at least 3 appeals.  Also, you don't have to wait six months and try again.  Take a look at the written policy.

I have BCBS of IL... and I was told 1 appeal without sending in additional information.   if you send in additional information you get 2 appeals. I am hoping this works... I am fixing to start appealing tomorrow. GOOD LUCK

I was told to send in more information, but the therapist that I went to is stalling with my evaluation and says it might be another month before she can okay me...she has to check with her boss! I am just praying that BCBS will wait that long. It has already been over a month since they told me to send in more information! I took one evaluation and she said the results didn't match up with her interview w/me. The test showed me to be anti-social and she could tell that I clearly am not anti-social. So, she had to wait a month to see her supervisor. That was last Thursday and he said that I needed to take another test, a different one. So, today I went and took another one. Once I completed the 344 question test, she said that she has to wait another month for her supervisor to come back and check the results for himself! I am just fuming!!! I have called to try to get another evaluation with a different psychiatrist, but no one can see me until July! And I have called everywhere that's within 120 miles! I don't know what to do! I am thinking that BCBS might deny me because of the length of time it's taken me, but I don't know what else to do!  If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears! You can also e-mail me, if you'd like.
