BMI

I have been doing my 6 mo weight loss program.  I also have three years of weight loss notes; however, in one of those years, my BMI was above 35 on one visit and just under on another.   I have BC.  Could I be denied because of that?     My policy just states that the BMI has to be over 35 for at least three years.

I had the same problem.  My insurance needed to see that my BMI was at least 40 or higher every year for the last 5 years.  One year I was dieting with some success and dropped way below that.  Luckily (well now I say luckily), I regained quite a bit in the same year.   My point... The insurance company doesn't have to see every note from every year.  They only require one note from each year.  Your surgeon can just submit the higher weight from that year, which is what my surgeon did. The insurance will require all of the notes from your 6 month supervised diet.  I didn't want to confuse you on that.   Hope this helps.

Thanks.  That was what I was hoping.  It should not be a problem then.   Sure will be glad when all of this is over.
