AETNA Choice POS II

I am in the process of going thru the motions to try and have my insurance approve the surgery.  I would like to hear from other people who have this same insurance (Aetna Choice POS II) here in Virginia, and the experiences they have had so far. I am very nervous that I will be denied.  My insurance covers wls, but it doesn't cover the phyciatric evaluation I have to go thru tomorrow.  I have to pay $408 out of pocket to have that done, and I am so afraid that after I pay out all these copays, and money for testing I am going to be denied anyway.  Please, anyone with experiences with Aetna contact me.  I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello hello.... I have Aetna POS and was just approved for WLS.  Although I'm in FL, Aetna uses the same medical necessity criteria for everyone provided they have coverage.  The biggest thing is finding out whether or not your policy specifically excludes WLS.  In those cir****tances medical necessity is not considered, it's simply not covered.  Have you found out if your policy will cover WLS?
