How to ask insurance company if paperwork has been received?

Just wanted to know what should I say?  I am nervous and  my mind has went blank.

Once my Insurance analyst faxed over my paperwork she called and gave me my 8 digit case reference number  so  when I call to CHECK THE STATUS of my PRE CERTIFICATION  I verify my insurance card  group Id # then the case#  then they give   me the update processing , pending I will call sometime this week  hopefully it will be approved.   

When I called, I justed said, "I am calling to see if my pre-certification has been recieved." Then once it was recieved, I celled and said, "I am calling check the status of my approval (now I call about the satatus of my appeal)"  Good Luck
