Important NEW Info for Those with Humana PPO
Hey everyone- my Humana PPO has changed its decision on supervised diet and exercise. The new information is quite wonderful. Basically, you no longer need to do a certain time period of diet/exercise. Rather, you just have to show that you have attempted weight loss on your own and have spoken to your physician about it. All of the other requirements are still the same, but I am overjoyed that I may not have to continue on this supervised diet- I have several discussions in my medical chart with my PCP and I could be in surgery sooner than I had anticipated.
This is a true answer to prayer!
There is no specifics on whether it is just for TX or not. In the disclaimer the document does say that medicaid and medicare may be different, though.
It is not my intention to give any false hope. I just wanted those who do have Humana PPO to check. I had to speak to a supervising manager and a WLS approval nurse because the CS Reps where not aware of the changes and were still siting the old information. If you can use myhumana.com then you may be able to review your own coverage information and see if it has changed for you as well.
