Kaiser Help

Hi I'm new to the site and need some Kaiser help. Saw my PCP she sent my paperwork to the Obesity Center. At this point I don't have any comorbidities except controlled HBP, controlled GERD. My BMI is 49.2. If I gain 5 lbs. I will have a BMI of 50. Do I have to wait for a certain amount of time before I apply again with a 5 lbs gain or should I just reapply. Thanks for any help.

Hello, I am also a Kaiser patient.  I am a member of the Southern CA Kaiser. All Kaisers have different requirements, there is no uniformity with any of them.  For mines, you would qualify alone on BMI, without any co-mos.  I have a BMI of 47 and I would qualify but they have me on a technicallity.  My old PCP retired and left me with a referral that was rejected due to old Kaiser requirements.  Now they have changed and I have never met my new PCP becuase I moved to a new city.  So I have not known my PCP for a while and I will be asking for a referral off the bat.   I would suggest that you go to your state's forum and ask the question there.  Someone will probably  know the answer.   Good Luck to you.
