Hello Hello!
I, too, have Aetna. My request will be sent to them next week (after my last appt). Everything I have learned so far is that they require a BMI over 40 each year for 5 years if you don't have the co-morbities they specify. As far as the pre-op diet, they use your starting BMI. In the years that your BMI was lower than 40, how low was it?
Some of the tips I've seen on OH suggest that you might be an inch shorter than you thought you were. An inch shorter dramatically impacts your BMI.
