I see so many denials

I see so many denials here on the insurance page, it is pretty discouraging.  Does insurance do whatever they can to not cover the surgery or what?

Most companies try to do what they can. But, keep in mind that most people who come to the insurance forum are looking for advice in order to beat a denial or avoid one.  People who are approved straight out usually don't post here,  and even people who get approved sometimes don't come back to post follow ups. So.  You're seeing a very small percentage of requests being denied, BUT you're seeing all denials because that's pretty much what we do here.   Don't take anything as law or to heart.  Every situation can be different and you never know until you try,

It's not the insurance company but the employer.  The insurance company administers the policy, the employer chooses what to cover.
