tricare PRIME

tricare does not and will not pay for lap band only rny and i wont do an rny. so i will just go on with life. i know that i can lose the weight again i have before and try my best at it in hopes that one day tricare will change.

I am sure with years it will change.  Tricare considers Lap Band "experimental".  Why is it you won't do RNY?  Good luck to you!

I am curious as to why you won't do RNY also?  They can do it laproscopicaly so you don't have the large incision and healing time is fairly quick from what I understand.  I wanted the lap band at first, but the more I learned about RNY, the more it seems like a better choice...for me anyway.

I have family members that have had the lap banding so i know most of the ins and outs of it.   i have read and talked to people and rny and had met a person that died from it. so for me it is a surgury that i feels is just way to hard on the body, the thought of having my insides cut out just is not me. i am not really sure how to explain it. but thank you for asking
