Alright so I was and still am worried about this 6 month diet requirement my insurance has. Says it has to be within the last two years from what I read on their website.

So anyway, this weekend I was at drill for the Army National guard and getting weighed AGAIN by our Doc. I was telling him about my plans and e brought up that there were SF600's in my medical record documenting my weight over the past 8 months and they tell exactly what I needed to do. See I am on the Army weight control program and all they require for me to not get kicked out is to show progress.

So this is what the progress notes say from the Doc....

Weight:             pounds

Type of Diet:  Low fat, low calorie. Advised PFC Hess to limit her intake of fatty foods and to increase her intake of fruits and vegetables.

Exercise:      Moderate walking daily along with push ups and situps if possible to prepare PFC Hess for her PT test and assist in weight loss.

Behavior Modifications :  Advised PFC Hess to keep a log of her food intake and to eat 6 small meals daily, rather than 3 large meals.

Additional Comments: PFC Hess will check in with me and be weighed monthly at drill. As long as progress is being made the above recommendations will stay in place.

Of course it has the weight change every month and the date every month, plus his signature and his sig line.

So I have the last 6 months worth of these copied to take to my consult tomorrow. Should this be enough to make the insurance company happy?? I mean it isn't my PCP, but it is a doctor. Albeit an Army doctor, but a doctor all the same who was charting my progress.

I am not an expert but it would work for my insurance!  I would say give it a try.
