I have another question about Medi-Cal. I had my surgeons consult and he said even though my bmi is 37 it should all work out. I know they say 35 or more with co-morbs, so i have gerd and he said that will be enough. But do you think it will be? Also does Medi-Cal say i have to have a high bmi for 5 years?

I wish I could just say to you that it will all work out.  And, you know what, I would think it will, but you never know with these companies.  Your surgeon's office sounds very smart.  They have the experience dealing with these companies. And they are correct, GERD is a co-morb that is readily accepted as a co-morb, unlike depression or arthritis which takes more of an argument. Just make sure that they submit all of your documentation and then just follow up and wait.
