So I have been sending information to BCBS IL on and off when they asked for more info. for the past 6 months in regards to having a belt lipectomy done.  I have lost 210 pounds through diet and exercise and have skin just hanging from my stomach, abdomin and mons area. My plastic surgeon wrote a letter initially. Then I sent a letter from my PCP, pre-op photos, and codes.  I just recently got a letter from BCBS saying I would not be eliglibe because I do not have documentation supporting chronic intertigo that consistantly re occurs or  remains re factory to appropriate medical therapy as outlined in their medical policy manual.  I went to my PCP and he wrote a letter saying I have suffered from this since 2001. We just sent this letter out.  I did not go to the doctor every time I had a rash or infection.  But I did journal about it.  I have pictures of my most current infection. I don't have receipts from any products like powder or creams I bought for the rashes.  My doctor always suggested anti fungal powders.   The letter from BCBS did say that if I have additional documentation that would further support my request, that I should submit it. I guess what I want to know is, is there anything more I can send to BCBS?  Should I send my journal entries and the photos I took?  What more do they need from me besides my doctor's note?   Does anyone have any experience with this?  Your help is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance! Katy

it's too bad that bcbs will cover a 'tummy tuck' 1 year or 18 months post op for wls surgery patients but not when you do it through diet and excercise. The only advise i can give you is to start documenting with every problem you have as a result of the extra skin and then try again in 6 months or so. goodkluck

I do not have any experience but perhaps your PCP has dates (in his records ) of when you talked to him about this problem?  You say he recommended powders,  Didi he documente the rashes by noting them in your file?  If he did then copies of those files should be the further documentation that is needed.
