I never thought to look and see if my insurance covered fills or not. How will I know if they do? Is there a code I can give them to see if its covered?  Do most insurance companies cover fills after a surgery??? Kathy

As long as it is the same policy that paid for the surgery you should be fine you can call your surgens office and get the procedure codes that they wil be billing with and then call your insurance company and give them they codes and they will be able to tell you for sure if they are covered... you did bring up an interesting point though... if you leave your employer and the policy your next employer has does not cover weightloss surgery.... and if it does not cover any costs related to procedures not covered under the policy then you would have to pay out of pocket for the fills and possibly anything related to the surgery in the future ex. regular check up or visit with the dietician if they are billing with the wls as the diagnosis and reason for the apt's.  well hope that helped a little good luck!

I will be in this situation soon- changing jobs and probably insurance. Is there a way to find out how much fills cost? Do I just ask my surgeon or billing department at the hospital?
