Ca. Medi-Cal

Hello!  Has anyone had straight Medi-Cal? I am just wondering how hard/easy they are to deal with. My consult is 4-12-07, and i have a bmi of 38... I am worried i will be denied since it's not 40. I do have arthritis in my lower back, high cholesterol, asthma, gerd... Hopefully those will be enough... 

The NIH requirements are 35 with one co-morb and 40 with none.  You do have co-moprbs, including GERD which they do recognize as a co-morb.  The others are co-morbs as well but they tend to minimize arthritis.  I know, they're wrong, but they do what they can to deny. It seems like youre ok.  Just make sure you provide the doc with a  complete history. Good luck.  and Happy Spring. Gary
