I had my sleep study done last week and the preliminary results were "mild" sleep apnea. I was awake 31% of the time and never really got into deep enough sleep for them to get a good reading. My insurance says I need to have "severe" sleep apnea. Anyone have any info on whether this will go through w/ mild sleep apnea? I am considering having the sleep study re-done.

Make sure your doctor tells them of the fact that sleep apnea in any form is potentially fatal. You may also want the test reviewed to ensure they read it correctly

My insurance will only cover severe sleep apnea, 15/hr, mine was 9.8 an hour. I am being re-tested tonight and found out that if I do not hit the 15/hr that insurance will not pay for the test. I also will not qualify for the surgery. So it's a crap shoot.

I wonder if my GP writes a letter since my cholesterol is so high if that would help?
