Kaiser CO- 30%!

I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum to post this.  If it isn't, please smack me and direct me to where I should be posting this. I just received the call today from Kaiser to move me forward in the surgery process.  While I am excited, I found out that my coverage has changed as of the first of the year through my employer.  Instead of the $300 co-pay I expected, the co-pay is 30%!  That's $8,000 - $9,000 that I don't have.  Has anyone used financing?  If so, can you recommend anyone?  Note, I have not so great credit that I have been rebuilding over the past year.  Thanks in advance. Kristen

Kristen, Do you have a out of pocket Max..   Example: We pay 20 % of everything ...however, our out of pocket max is $1200.00... therefore, when I have paid $1200.00 everything else is covered.  We reached our out of pocket max in February (oct- sept fiscal year) therefore when I have surgery... if it is before sept 30 ..everything will be covered at 100%.

Yes, your out of pocket max should cut down quite a bit.   Regarding financing, my surgeon's office had pamphlets for financing with Capital One, as low as 1.99%.   Good luck.

I just checked with Kaiser and the out of pocket maximum doesn't apply to bariatric surgery for my plan.  Sigh.  Back to the drawing board.
