Approved Anthem / HMO Blue New England

I was approved as of March 22, 2007 for Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass.  I have had Anthem since January of this year.  I am in New Hampshire, where there is no law requiring an insurer to offer WLS.  Anthem does ofer products with WLS exclusions. My surgeon submitted my information March 19, 2007 and I was approved within three days.  My surgery date is April 4, 2007, so I am very excited and pleased. Prior to Janaury 1, I had been preparing for RNY using the guidelines for my prior insurer, Great-West.  I am happy to see that their requirements and Anthem's are so similar.  No pre-surgery diet requirements, other than your documenteds past weight loss efforts, and no intelligence testing either.  One psych evaluation.
